1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding electronic agreement between you ("User", "Customer", or "You") and Karum.in ("Karum", "Company", "we", "us", or "our").
By accessing our website (karum.in), scheduling a vehicle inspection, submitting car valuation requests, or accessing our admin/dealer portals, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any portion of these Terms, please discontinue use of the platform immediately.
2. Description of Services
Karum.in operates an automotive assessment technology platform providing:
- Doorstep & Center Car Inspection: Comprehensive multi-point physical checks, onboard diagnostics (OBD-II where applicable), paint depth gauge readings, engine health tests, and visual wear assessments.
- Automated Valuation Engine: Algorithmic market price estimations based on vehicle specifics, recorded mileage, regional pricing trends, and wear conditions.
- Digital Inspection Certificates: Standardized digital inspection reports summarizing car condition scores, photographic documentation, and repair recommendations.
- Seller & Dealer Solutions: Connecting inspected car sellers with licensed automotive dealer networks for price discovery and purchase facilitation.
3. Inspection Nature, Scope & Limitations
Our certified field inspectors conduct comprehensive evaluations according to standardized inspection protocols. However, you acknowledge and agree to the following operational parameters:
- Point-in-Time Assessment: An inspection report certifies the observable condition of the vehicle at the exact date, time, and location of the inspection. Vehicle health may change after the inspector departs due to continued driving, external handling, or sudden component wear.
- Test Drive Constraints: Test drives conducted by inspectors are brief, controlled, low-speed safety assessments dependent on safe road conditions, valid vehicle insurance, and fuel availability.
- No Mechanical Guarantee or Warranty: Karum.in does not provide a mechanical warranty, guarantee of merchantability, or financial insurance against future breakdowns.
4. Vehicle Valuation Estimates
Any estimated price range or valuation score displayed on Karum.in is an indicative fair market estimation derived from mathematical modeling, historical transaction data, and condition scores.
Valuation estimates do not constitute a binding legal offer or irrevocable guarantee to buy the vehicle at that price. Final sale values remain subject to physical inspection, title verification, market supply-demand fluctuations, and mutual buyer-seller agreement.
5. User Obligations & Warranties
When booking an inspection or listing vehicle information, you warrant and represent that:
- You are at least 18 years of age and possess full legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.
- You are the registered owner of the vehicle or possess written, valid legal authorization from the owner to permit inspection and sale discussions.
- All information provided regarding the vehicle (odometer reading, registration, past accidents, flood submersion, and service history) is truthful and accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- The vehicle is not subject to undisclosed financial dispute, police theft notice, criminal litigation, or illegal chassis tampering.
- The vehicle will be positioned in a secure, well-lit, and accessible area with sufficient fuel to allow thorough evaluation.
6. Booking, Rescheduling & Cancellations
Customers may reschedule or cancel scheduled inspections by notifying Karum.in support at least 3 hours prior to the booked inspection window.
If an inspector arrives at the designated inspection location and is unable to access the vehicle due to customer unavailability, absent keys, or safety hazards after 30 minutes of arrival, Karum.in reserves the right to mark the appointment as unfulfilled and assess a nominal mobilization fee.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
All software, code, proprietary inspection checklists, design elements, logos, evaluation algorithms, text, and graphics on Karum.in are the exclusive intellectual property of Karum.in and protected under Indian copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
You may download and print your official inspection report for personal or transaction-related use, but you may not alter, reproduce, resell, or scrape platform data for commercial resale without prior written approval.
8. Limitation of Liability & Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law:
- Karum.in, its directors, employees, inspectors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, unexpected vehicle breakdown costs, or disputes arising between independent buyers and sellers.
- In any event, Karum.in's aggregate liability arising out of or related to any inspection service shall not exceed the actual inspection fee paid by you for that specific vehicle evaluation.
- You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Karum.in and its officers from any third-party claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses resulting from your breach of these Terms, misrepresentation of vehicle ownership, or violation of applicable laws.
9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms and any disputes arising out of your relationship with Karum.in shall be governed by, construed, and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India.
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall first be resolved through good-faith mutual negotiations. If unresolved, the competent civil courts located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all proceedings.
